UCI BMX World Championships - [Mongoose]
Sao Paulo, Brazil -- July 29, 2006 -- Eric ?Big Daddy? Rupe was in Brazil this past weekend for the 2006 UCI World BMX Championships. He raced in two classes, the 30 & Over Men and the 40-44 Cruiser. He was out front all day in both classes and looked to be a good pick to win ?em both. He got a great start in the 30 & Over class and was winning it to the first jump. He tried to stay a bit too low over the first jump and came up a little short. He lost the slight lead he had over Jason Carnes (Redline) and was now second going into the first turn. Jason pushed Eric a bit high in the turn and that allowed two other riders to slip underneath him. After four straight aways and three turns of trying to pass cleanly to no avail, Eric ended up with a disappointing 4th place overall.

In the 40-44 Cruiser class, he walked away with every lap from the motos to the semi final and even the main event. Big Daddy was at least a full straight away ahead on each lap. Two World Championships events attended in two years and two World Championship Titles won. Mongoose & the USA all the way!
