Whistler, BC, Canada -- July 29, 2006 --
Whistler is a mountain biker?s heaven. The downhill runs are amazing, dirt jumps of all sizes, cement skate park and more. The Jim Bean Air Down Hill event was on Thursday on the A Line trail. The course has all kinds of jumps on it. Andrew Neethling finished up in 12th with a time of 4:26.69 and Aaron Peters finished up 41st with a time of 4:40.52.
Friday was the Nissan Biker X (4X). Eric Carter qualified 10th with a time of 55.56 and Andrew Neethling qualified 14th with a time of 56.48. Eric Carter made through the first round. In the second round EC ended up hitting the gate that put him in the small main and placed 6th overall. Andrew flatted in his run and finished 11th.
The Garbanzo Downhill event is one of the longest downhill events of the year. The course is over 15 minutes long. Andrew Neethling finished up 13th with a time of 15:47.13 and Aaron Peters finished up 29th with a time of 16:29.17.
Jim DeChamp competed in the Jump Jam and landed a huge transfer flip. He then went to do another run and attempted a 360 on a massive set of doubles right out of hip jump and came up a little short and went over the bars. Jim qualified for the head to head final and ended up in 8th place.
